A club does not pay a transfer fee. It pays a fee, plus the training rewards riding on it, plus an intermediary, plus wages and the employer charges on them — and it releases the capital side over the length of the contract, which is the number that reaches the profit rules. On a typical deal the fee everyone quotes is under half of what the signing actually costs.
